On November 4, 2017 Elder Richard Barron will be the speaker for worship service and vespers at the Mount Carmel SDA Church in Syracuse, NY.  Mount Carmel’s pastor is Stanley Dixon, Assistant to the President for the Western New York Area.

Given the popularity of Pastor Barron among many, we are seeking to “get the word out” so as many individuals who desire to benefit from the preached Word may come and be blessed. Pastor Richard Barron is a compelling, riveting speaker who touches the hearts of all ages. He is a native of Newark, New Jersey and is a lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. His educational pursuits began in the Trinity Temple SDA Church School, in Newark, New Jersey. Later, he attended Oakwood University and the SDA Theological Seminary at Andrews University. Early in his ministry, Barron served as a pastor in Northern California and then as Youth Director in the Lake Union Conference. He has served God’s remnant church as a pastor/evangelist, departmental director in both local and union conferences. Additionally, he served in the General Conference International headquarters of the Church on two different occasions, as a local conference president, and Ministerial Director of the Bermuda Conference.

Well known as a preacher at major youth congresses and other events for teens and young adults, Pastor Richard Barron was the first African American to serve in the youth department of the General Conference. He has been honored by awards from the Kiwanis Clubs and the NAACP. He was also an Associate Director of Youth Ministries at the General Conference from 1975 into the mid-1990’s and then served as President of Southwest Region Conference. Following his retirement after approximately 50 years of continuous service to the world church, he has pastored and served as assistant to the president of three Seventh-day Adventist hospitals. He continues to receive invitations to preach the love of God from countries around the world.
