 Youth Olympic Rules

1. Northeastern Conference A.Y. Olympics games are conducted under the rules and regulations of Northeastern Conference Youth Olympics Committee (NECAYOC) and the current edition of the National Federation of Track and Field Rules (NF).

2. Eligibility of Athletes: All participants must be members of the church, A.Y. Society, Pathfinder Club, Sabbath School or Church School.

3. Each race will be started at the time stated in the program. Each participants shall acquaint him/herself with the time of starting and must report to the clerking area by the third and final call which is made 5 minutes before the event. Athletes failing to report to the clerking area by
the 3rd call will be scratched from the event!!!

4. The NECAYOC reserves the right to make any alterations that may be deemed necessary.

5. Participants will be allowed on the tract or field for their event only and must retire immediately after that event is completed.

6. When reporting to the clerking area, each runner must wear his/her number in the area specified by the Meet/Director.

7. No coach, manager, or attendant shall be permitted at the starting or finish line.

8. Participants will be excluded from competing unless properly attired. (i.e. Area T-shirt, track shorts, sneakers, track shoes)

9. Participants will not be allowed to participate with jewelry such as earrings, bracelets, chains anklets, etc.

10. For the events that are run in lanes - all athletes are required to stay in their lanes. Should a runner impede another runner during the race, he/she will be disqualified from the event. An event will be rerun at the discretion of the Meet Referee!

11. Each participants is allowed three (3) jumps in the Long Jump/Standing Broad Jump event and three (3) puts int he Shot Put event.

12. Each Olympic event will be a final. Points will be awarded to the firs six (6) places in the following manner:
1st place: 10 points 2nd place: 8 points 3rd place: 6 points
4th place: 4 points 5th place: 3 points 6th place: 2 points

13.

A. TEN (10) penalty points will be deducted from the federation team from unsportsmanlike conduct. If an athlete is involved in unsportsmanlike conduct, he/she will also be disqualified from the event. Such conduct will be determined by the Meet Referee and the appropriate Official(s) only.

B. TWO (2) penalty points will be deducted from the points awarded for placing in an event
if the athlete does not have a valid eligibility form on file. Example: 1st place would
receive 8 instead of 10 points, etc.

C. THIRTY (30) penalty points will be deducted from the federation f=team for any acts of
cheating. The athlete(s) involved in the cheating incident will also be disqualified from the
event. Incidents of cheating will be determined by the Clerk of the Course and the
appropriate Officials) only.

14. Area coaches and Sports Coordinators are responsible and will inform their athletes of all rules and regulations.
