The Ministerial Department of the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists announces its second annual Music Conference.
The theme of the 2015 Music Conference is ‘Cross Cultural Music and Worship: Bridging The Divide.’ The conference will take place over two days, April 17-18, 2015 at the New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Rochdale Village, NY. In addition, a special master class for musicians is being offered on Thursday, April 16, 2015 with Dr. Wayne Bucknor, Chair of the Oakwood University Department of Music. The location of the master class will be announced shortly.
The conference will feature content experts in the area of music and worship, including:
1. Dr. Cheryl Wilson Bridges, Associate Pastor for Worship at Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church and author of Levite Praise: God’s Biblical Design for Praise and Worship
2. Dr. Wayne Bucknor, Chair & Associate Professor of Piano, Oakwood University Department of Music.
3. Pastor Orville Brissett, minister, worship leader, minister of music, and vocalist.
4. Nicholas Zork, editor of Best Practices for Adventist Worship, an email newsletter published by the North American Division, Minister for Worship and the Arts at Church of the Advent Hope in Manhattan, and director of the Andrews University Music and Worship Conference.
5. Marcos Cruz, Director of the Greater New York Conference Worship Ministry.
