On Saturday, July 19, 2025, the “Temple Adventiste de Brockton” in Brockton, MA,  was filled with God’s divine presence and reverence as it hosted a momentous event: the consecration of elders and deacons. The occasion was a celebration of dedication, faith, and spiritual commitment.

The deacons—Pierre Edner Barthelemy, Ancy Maurice, Jacques Milliance, Enock Rodriguez, and Merrilmarc Verneus—along with the elders—Jean-René Destiné and Edwing Guilloteau—were consecrated to serve. The ceremony radiated spiritual joy and emphasized the sacredness of their calling.

Dr. Dedrick Blue delivered the inspiring sermon titled, “God Give Me That Mountain,” rooted in Joshua 14:6-12. In his message, he emphasized that with God’s help, we can overcome any obstacle. Using Caleb’s unwavering faith as a testament, Dr. Blue reminded everyone that victory is assured when God is on our side.

A warm reception was held for the newly consecrated individuals, their families, the church leadership, and the entire congregation, which celebrated the divine commissioning.

In Acts 6, ‘deacons’ are entrusted with the practical responsibilities of church life, while elders serve as spiritual guides and leaders. Under the pastoral leadership, they work together to lead worship, teach the Scriptures, and nurture the spiritual growth of the congregation.

The Adventist Church Manual affirms that all newly appointed elders and deacons should undergo thorough training and understanding of their roles before being formally consecrated. The laying on of hands symbolizes their divine calling and dedication to service in God’s kingdom.
