BLACK HISTORY MONTH FEATURE STORY
Goffe Auditorium Transformed Into The American XXperience Museum

On February 21, as part of the month-long Black History Month celebration for the Kingsboro Seventh-day Adventist church and in recognition of the 100th anniversary of its national observance, the Goffe Auditorium was transformed into The American XXperience Museum. The immersive, interactive experience honored Black history, innovation, resilience, and legacy in a powerful and meaningful way.

This special event, made possible through a collaboration between the church’s Adventist Youth and Media Ministries, created a space designed to educate, inspire, and uplift the Kingsboro church family. The walls were lined with informative displays and historical images highlighting pivotal moments and influential figures whose contributions continue to shape our shared story. Tables throughout the room showcased significant inventions, celebrating Black excellence and ingenuity across generations.

A designated viewing area featured short films — including two from the Equal Justice Initiative- that encouraged reflection on justice, perseverance, and hope.

The program also included live presentations and a meaningful opportunity for members to record their own legacy stories through ‘Love Made Audible.’ It was a beautiful reminder that history is not only something we learn about, but it is something we actively continue to write.

One of the evening’s most joyful highlights was the participation of the Adventurers. With their museum “passport” books in hand, they explored the exhibits, identified inventions, engaged in thoughtful discussion, and even imagined inventions of their own — embracing both history and possibility.

The American XXperience Museum was more than an exhibit; it was an invitation to remember, honor, and learn from our shared legacy while committing to carry it forward with faith and purpose.
