A monthly blog by the Stewardship Ministries Department of the Northeastern Conference.

A stew is comprised of various ingredients that blend harmoniously to create a flavorful dish. While the combination of flavors is important, it is equally vital that each ingredient is clearly identified.

Transparency regarding the ingredients in a stew allows those who partake to be confident in what they are consuming. In the same way, transparency builds confidence and trust among church members and donors. As stewards of the resources God has entrusted to us, it is essential to be as transparent as possible with those who give to His church. Practicing transparency means proactively sharing information before it is requested.

As faithful stewards, we must be intentional in demonstrating transparency with the resources the Lord has provided to our churches.

This involves implementing strict internal controls, providing regular reporting, and maintaining open communication—particularly regarding financial resources.

Transparency removes doubt from the minds of those who give, demonstrating that funds are managed with honesty and integrity.

As we stir the STEW this month, let us practice transparency until every aspect is clearly understood by all.
