ArtThe Northeastern Conference Youth Ministries Department celebrated the 45th Annual NEC Youth Olympics on July 19, 2026 at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven, Connecticut.

Since its beginning in 1981, the NEC Youth Olympics has brought young people together through faith, fitness, and fellowship. This year’s event welcomed 414 student-athletes who competed in 71 track and field events, including sprints, middle-distance races, the mile, long jump, shot put, and relay competitions.

The festivities began with the annual opening parade, as federations marched in a colorful display of school spirit. The Bronx-Manhattan Federation took home this year’s James Lambert Parade Trophy.

Adding to the celebration was a performance by the Next Gen Impact Drumline, and for the first time, a delegation from the Southern New England Conference joined the NEC Youth Olympics.

Congratulations to the 2026 champions! New England South Federation captured the overall championship with the highest medal count. Mark Bevans of Brooklyn South/Staten Island received the Trevor Baker “Fastest Man” Award, and Iheoma Ejiogu of Rock-West became the inaugural recipient of the Jasmine Hoyt “Fastest Woman” Award.

As the NEC Youth Olympics celebrates 45 years, this annual tradition continues to inspire young people to pursue excellence, build lasting friendships, and honor God through athletics and fellowship.
