Beacon Light Tabernacle in Wappingers Falls marked its 50th Anniversary with a joyful month of celebration, featuring spirited Sabbaths, a captivating stage production, an elegant black-tie gala, and a victorious mortgage-burning ceremony.
Embracing the theme, “We’ve Come This Far by Faith… With a Vision for Tomorrow,” the church family gathered each weekend to celebrate God’s guidance through fifty years and to look forward with fresh hope and determination.
The third weekend welcomed the family of church planter George Sampson, honoring the vision that sparked Beacon Light’s beginnings. Pastor Kyron John delivered a moving message that wove together legacy, faith, and mission for the future. That weekend, the congregation’s journey came alive through the original stage play, “All Roads Lead to Beacon,” written by Monet Williams of TestiMonet Productions and performed by members. Through heartfelt drama and testimony, the play traced Beacon Light’s humble origins, challenges, and triumphs, highlighting God’s presence in every chapter.
The final homecoming Sabbath brought together current and former members, friends, and guests in a joyful reunion. Abraham Jules, President of the Atlantic Union Conference, delivered a stirring message and issued a bold faith challenge to retire the remaining church mortgage. The congregation responded with overwhelming generosity.
By God’s grace, the challenge was met, and on January 31, 2026, the church gathered for a jubilant Praise and Worship Mortgage-Burning Ceremony. With joyful tears and uplifted hands, the congregation celebrated paying off the mortgage in just eight years and dedicated this new, debt-free chapter to expanding ministry throughout the Hudson Valley and beyond. Heartfelt thanks go to the Northeastern Conference leadership, including President Dr. Eldeen King and Treasurer Dr. Brian McDonald, for their steadfast support and for joining in this unforgettable celebration.
Warm thanks are extended to the 50th Anniversary Committee, the chairperson, and every sub-committee and volunteer whose dedication, creativity, and prayerful planning made this milestone season truly unforgettable. From inspiring worship services to the moving play and the elegant anniversary gala at The Grandview, every detail radiated excellence and a heartfelt desire to honor God.
As Beacon Light Tabernacle enters its next chapter, free from debt and focused on its mission, the church remains committed to preaching Christ, serving the community, nurturing families, and shining as a beacon of light and hope for generations to come.
