Evangelistic March Held to Promote Health and Hope in Christ
Inspired by the Pentecost 2025 evangelistic initiative organized by the Northeastern Conference, Pastor Dennys Mercedes led a citywide evangelistic march on Saturday, August 16, 2025 with the participation of several Seventh-day Adventist congregations in the Danbury, Connecticut area, namely: Danbury Hispanic Church, Brewster Hispanic Church, the missions of Mount Kisco and Mensajeros del Rey, the Danbury Luso-Brasileira Church along with its pastor, Thiago Alves Da Silva, and the Pathfinders of Danbury Bethel Church.

The march through the streets of Danbury carried a powerful message of health and the Second Coming of Jesus, Christ. Church members distributed Christian literature, magazines, books, Bibles, food, and water. Every individual encountered along the route was personally approached by dedicated teams who shared messages about health and the blessed hope of Christ’s return.
The event was escorted by the Danbury Police department for safety throughout the route. The march began on Main Street, continued along South Street and Town Hill, and concluded at the — church located at 78 Liberty Street. There, participants sang hymns of praise, expressed gratitude, and lifted heartfelt prayers for the nation and for the soon return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Prior to this event, on August 9, 2025, at the Annual Health Fair held in Danbury, Ct, Mayor Roberto Alves thanked Pastor Dennys Mercedes and the Danbury Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church for not only supporting the annual event but for the impact they are making in their community. In previous times, Mayor Alves has visited with Pastor Mercedes to learn about the ongoing health programs being held by the church to further benefit the community of Danbury.
Through these evangelistic and community service efforts, the Adventist Church continues to experience significant growth in the city of Danbury. To God be the glory!
