Christian Fellowship Church Celebrates 90 Years of God’s Faithfulness
Christian Fellowship Seventh-day Adventist Church in Brooklyn, New York is rejoicing as it celebrates 90 years of God’s faithfulness. Founded in 1936, the church has grown, relocated, and evolved through the decades, yet it continues to stand as a vibrant faith community, giving thanks for God’s sustaining grace.
Under the theme “From Generation to Generation: 90 Years of God’s Faithfulness,” the anniversary year was launched on January 3, when Raymond Alcock, Senior Pastor, set the spiritual tone for the year during the first Sabbath worship service of 2026. The service marked a moment of gratitude and anticipation as the congregation reflected on God’s leading and looked ahead with hope.
The official anniversary observances began on January 10, when former pastor, Dr. Eldeen C. King, President of the Northeastern Conference, opened the series with a sermon entitled “The Challenge of Becoming.” Members dressed in royal blue and gold, the anniversary colors, created a joyful and celebratory atmosphere.

After sunset, the Activities Committee hosted a ‘1930s Social,’ an engaging and educational event that highlighted life during the depression era. Attendees enjoyed music, learned about the economy of the time, and sampled foods typical of the Great Depression period, including cornbread, beans, potatoes, and hot dogs. A highlight of the evening was a lively fashion presentation developed through the creativity and collaboration of the church family, with strong leadership from the young people. Their enthusiasm and preparation delighted all in attendance. Each month will feature activities highlighting subsequent decades.
Throughout the year, former pastors will continue to return to Christian Fellowship on the second Sabbath of each month to celebrate shared memories and God’s ongoing faithfulness. Scheduled participants include Pastors Winston Stephenson, Allen Martin, Baldwin Barnes, Oswald Euell, James LaMar, Anthony Usher, and Chaplain Simone Mills-Pritcher, a daughter of the church
While anniversary activities will continue throughout the year, October 9–11, 2026 will be the Homecoming weekend. Dr. R. Clifford Jones will serve as the keynote speaker on Sabbath, October 10th. A gala celebration is planned for Sunday, October 11th. Additional details will be shared in the coming months.
