What’s in the STEW this month?

There are some ingredients that raise the flavor of a stew to another level of scrumptiousness that is second to none. One of those ingredients in the stew this month is TEMPLE. Of course, I am talking about the body TEMPLE, the place where God desires to dwell.

When we are asked to be good stewards over all the resources entrusted unto us, we must be careful not to overlook this fundamental resource of our body TEMPLES. It is from this resource (the TEMPLE) that we are able to respond appropriately as good stewards mentally, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually over all the other resources entrusted to us. Being a good steward of our body TEMPLE is not optional, it is foundational.

The human body TEMPLE is important because it serves as the physical vessel for our consciousness, functioning as a highly complex biological machine that sustains life.

The body TEMPLE translates our thoughts into actions, allows us to interact with others, and houses vital organs that maintain internal balance and good health. Our body TEMPLE is the foundation of our well-being, enabling every experience and achievement in our lives.

We ought to invest in our body TEMPLES by ensuring that it is well taken care of as the place wherein God enjoys dwelling. Getting the appropriate rest, exercising, practicing proper hygiene, and stimulating the mind with uplifting educational and spiritual activities are some of the many ways in which we should be good stewards of our body TEMPLES.

As we stir the stew again this month, let us take the time daily to ensure that we are being good stewards of the body TEMPLES God has entrusted unto us. Remembering always “that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you and which ye have from God, and that ye are not your own”. (Corinthians 6:19)
