The Family Ministries department of the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists comprises various areas of the family. Its mission is to equip and strengthen families for time and eternity, and the Ministry has provided resources, training, support, and premarital and marital counseling for the members of the Seventh-day Adventist church and the community.

In November, the Ministry joined in worship at the Hyde Park Seventh-day Adventist Church in Hyde Park, Massachusetts, with Dr. James Yansen Jr., Senior Pastor, for a family life weekend. The impactful weekend included an inspiring message, profound presentations for couples and singles, and discussions on conflict and issue resolution for families. Families were admonition to do their best to live in peace and harmony at home.

Yancy Nurse-Hernandez recently joined the Family Ministries team to oversee Children’s Ministries. Hernandez and her team held a fun-filled day in October for children throughout our Conference and the community at the Northeastern Conference parking lot. The children enjoyed rides, games, food, and other activities. The program provided an opportunity for the team to evangelize the surrounding community.

The Single’s Ministry Coordinator, Lisa Michelle, and her team have also provided unique ways to connect our community of singles from various churches. The Ministry continues to have programs and preach on issues that face singles. Early this year, a game night was held to connect individuals from different churches.

In the area of Men’s Ministries, a Retreat is being organized for March 2025. More information will be forthcoming.

Our families should not only seek togetherness during the holiday season but also exhibit this daily with our immediate family members and those who we consider a part of our family dynamic.”
