Northeastern Conference Adventist Community Services Disaster Response

Update – Venezuela Earthquake Crisis
On June 24, Venezuela experienced two major earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 near San Felipe, northwest of Caracas. By Saturday evening, over 1,400 people had died, and rescue teams are still urgently searching for survivors amid ongoing aftershocks and limited resources.
Derrick Lee from the North American ACS Ministry states that, although the North American Division Adventist Community Services (ACS) isn’t deploying personnel or resources because the disaster is outside its response zone, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) has activated its emergency protocols. ADRA is collaborating with local authorities, church leaders, and humanitarian partners to coordinate relief efforts and is requesting financial donations, which provide the most flexibility to meet changing needs.
The NEC ACS is working with local Hispanic leaders, such as Pastors Roberto Garcia and Javier Alcon, to coordinate updates on how the Northeastern Conference can provide support and show solidarity. On behalf of Dr. Eldeen King and his administration, I kindly ask our church community and everyone to pray sincerely for the people of Venezuela, our fellow believers, and all those involved in relief efforts.
Thank you for your continued prayers and compassionate leadership.
