Adventist Women Leaders (AWL) invites you to a two-part gathering designed for women who lead in ministry, education, healthcare, and beyond. Imagine walking into a room filled with women who understand what it means to lead with both conviction and compassion. You feel seen.
That’s the atmosphere we’re cultivating at the 2025 Adventist Women Leaders (AWL) Symposium: Soul Care for Women Leaders. We’re gathering to talk about the real work of leadership—how we care for others, how we care for ourselves, and how we stay rooted in purpose while navigating complexity.

Keynote Speaker Bios:
Yami Bazan, Ph.D., is an experienced educator, minister, and administrator with over 30 years of leadership in Adventist education and ministry. She currently serves as the 30th president of Union Adventist University. Known for cultivating compassionate, inclusive communities, Dr. Bazan has led student life initiatives at La Sierra and Loma Linda Universities. Her work reflects a lifelong commitment to grace-led leadership, spiritual connection, and building environments where people thrive personally, academically, and spiritually.
Denise Crarey, LCPC, is a licensed clinical professional counselor and doctoral candidate who leads Outpatient Behavioral Health for University of Maryland Capital Region Health. With a background in private practice and hospital administration, she integrates clinical expertise with a compassionate, faith-informed approach to care. Denise equips individuals and families with practical tools for emotional resilience and personal growth, offering a grounded, insightful voice in conversations about leadership, wellness, and whole-person care.
