Evangelism in Action
November 16-23, 2024. The Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists (NEC) held an evangelistic mission trip to the Dominican Republic. The meetings were conducted in partnership with the Northeast Conference of Seventh-day Adventists located in that region.
Their efforts bore immediate and lasting fruit, and by the end of the week-long mission, 157 individuals were baptized, with many more publicly declaring their commitment to Christ and being prepared for follow-up baptismal services.
The evangelistic team led 12 campaigns across the territory, each driven by impassioned preaching, intensive personal Bible instructions, and beautiful music.
The delegation comprised of NEC leaders, Dr. Eldeen C. King, President; Dr. Nicardo Delahaye, Executive Secretary; Dr. Dedrick Blue, Ministerial Secretary, and Dr. Ainsworth Morris, Assistant to the President. Eight pastors and four laypersons accompanied the Conference administrators. Héctor Ramos, Pastor and the Hispanic Coordinator for the Northeastern Conference, led a team of pastors, including Javier Alcon, Roberto Garcia, Denis Cabrera, Rafael Solano, Tulio Terrero, Pablo Huerfano, and Ruben Maldonado. Elders comprised the team of lay representatives, namely Tomas Rivera, Roberto Rivera, Samuel Cruz, and Vicente Ventura.

Dr. Eldeen C. King, remarked: “The Northeastern Conference’s mission trip to the Dominican Republic is just a sample of our evangelistic vision of spreading the love of Christ even across borders. We are thankful to our Hispanic coordinator, Pastor Hector Ramos, and his team for planning this initiative that reminded us of the immense potential of collaborative ministry and the life-changing power of the gospel. ‘To God be the Glory!'”
Pastor Hector Ramos reflected with heartfelt gratitude on the significance of the mission trip. He shared, “As a Hispanic Coordinator, I feel incredibly privileged and deeply thankful for the opportunity to guide others in accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior when the Lord graciously opens the doors of this world to us. Our pastors not only grow in their calling, but also cultivate beautiful friendships while fostering a spirit of unity and support among us all.”
The evangelistic efforts in the Dominican Republic have created ripples of change that extend far beyond the week of campaigns. The many testimonies from local leaders and members across the field indicate that not only were they joyful for the impact of the outreach resulting in new believers, but they were also thankful for the personal and collective revival experienced.
