On July 16, 2025, the staff of the Northeastern Conference of Seventh-day Adventists gathered to celebrate the grand reopening of the newly renovated worship room at the headquarters on 115-50 Merrick Boulevard, Jamaica, NY. The dedication marked the culmination of several weeks of construction and reflected a shared sense of gratitude, renewed purpose, and spiritual unity among staff members.

The service began with a devotional reflection led by Dr. Eldeen C. King, President of the Northeastern Conference, who spoke on the sacred role of worship in the life of the church and in the workplace. Dr. King highlighted the importance of the place of worship.

‘It is vital that we maintain spaces that nurture spiritual growth and unity. This is a sacred space—a place that reminds us of the importance of unity in worship and our continual gratitude to God,’ said Dr. Eldeen C. King. “I want to express my sincere appreciation to Dr. Nicardo Delahaye for his leadership in bringing this vision to life, and to our entire staff for their patience and cooperation throughout the renovation process.”

Following the devotional, Dr. Delahaye offered a prayer of dedication, setting a reflective tone and inviting God’s continued presence in the newly restored space.

The ceremonial opening of the room was carried out by Dr. Brian McDonald, Chief Financial Officer, and Dr. Keith Albury, Associate Executive Secretary, who officially opened the doors to the updated facility. The moment was met with enthusiastic applause from the staff, many of whom expressed appreciation for the improvements and the intentional focus on their spiritual well-being.

Once inside the worship room, the staff joined together in singing the hymn, “To God Be the Glory, Great Things He Hath Done,” creating a moment of collective praise and thanksgiving.

The renovation included the installation of modern audiovisual and multimedia systems, greatly enhancing the room’s functionality for daily devotionals, departmental meetings, presentations and team gatherings. The upgraded design reflects a renewed commitment to excellence and spiritual vitality within the Conference workplace.

The newly dedicated worship room will serve as a central hub for spiritual reflection, midday devotion, and mission-focused programming. It stands as a tangible expression of the Conference’s investment in the spiritual life of its staff and a reminder of God’s continued faithfulness.

Those visiting the Conference headquarters are warmly invited to stop by and experience this renewed space—a place dedicated to worship, reflection, and connection.
