Summer is on the horizon, and while schools prepare for Summer Break, the Northeastern Conference Children’s Ministries Department is already geared up and excited for Vacation Bible School 2026. As is the custom, the churches within the Northeastern Conference are praying, planning, and preparing for their upcoming VBS programs. This year’s theme is CACTUSVILLE, where our children are joyfully reminded that they are CALLED to follow Jesus and to be DIFFERENT.

A SpiritFilled Training Experience

On Sunday, May 24, 2026, under the leadership of Dr. Samuel and Andrea Blair, the Children’s Ministries department hosted a dynamic, hands‑on interactive VBS training for Children’s Ministries and Sabbath School leaders across the conference.

The Northeastern Conference headquarters was transformed into a true western‑style Cactusville experience. Trainers and staff, dressed in full Western attire, brought energy, enthusiasm, and authenticity to every presentation. Lead Trainers were Gail Crichlow-Hall, Assistant Family Life Director and Children’s Ministries Coordinator, Northeastern Conference, and Daveisha Augustin.

These presenters delivered in‑depth guidance to support churches in their local VBS programs. Their sessions covered essential topics such as:

  • Child Safety & Allergies
  • Accommodating Special Needs
  • Child Engagement & Role Play
  • Budgeting & Supplies

Additional trainers—Racquada Perry and Victoria Boyce, along with Gail Crichlow-Hall—led immersive station‑based training. Participants rotated through stations focused on:

  • Games
  • Crafts
  • Prayer
  • Snacks
  • Bible Illustrations

Each station reinforced the message that although we are all different, God can use every one of us for His purpose.

Participants left equipped with:

  • Practical knowledge
  • Valuable resources
  • A Cactusville‑themed goody bag
  • Hands‑on experience to bring back to their churches

The day concluded with a hearty and healthy western‑style brunch, followed by a final charge commissioning leaders to go forth and evangelize our children with the skills they gained.
