Over the course of several sacred days on the beautiful island of Jamaica, approximately 300 women from across the Northeastern Conference gathered for the 2025 Women’s Ministries Retreat under the inspiring theme, “Thrive.” What unfolded was far more than a weekend escape—it was a transformative experience marked by worship, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
From the opening session to the final benediction, the retreat embodied growth and grace. Through heartfelt worship, powerful prayer sessions, and dynamic workshops, attendees explored what it truly means to thrive in faith and purpose. The atmosphere was one of unity and spiritual revival, as women connected deeply through shared testimonies, laughter, and tears.
One of the most memorable and life-changing moments took place on Sabbath morning. As the day began, four women expressed their desire to be baptized. During the divine service, as Dr. Donnett Blake made a heartfelt appeal, five more individuals responded to the call of the Holy Spirit. By the close of the service, a total of eight women and one man had given their lives to Christ—a powerful testimony of God’s presence and transforming power throughout the weekend.
Another highlight of the retreat was the keynote messages delivered by Dr. Andrea King, whose passionate preaching challenged and encouraged all in attendance. Dr. King reminded participants that disappointment can often serve as divine redirection—that God is present and working even in seasons of uncertainty or pain. Her call to “give God glory before He finishes the story” resonated deeply, leaving many uplifted and strengthened in their faith.
The retreat’s success was reflected not only in the spiritual outcomes but also in the meaningful connections forged among the women. Many attendees testified of renewed faith, personal breakthroughs, and a revived commitment to living purposefully in Christ. “The program was exceptionally well organized—the presenters were truly inspirational,” shared one participant, capturing the sentiments of many.
As the sun set on the final day, participants departed Jamaica with hearts full of gratitude and purpose. They left not just with memories, but with seeds of transformation—ready to cultivate faith, strengthen their communities, and continue to thrive in God’s calling.
