April 2026
This month’s ingredient is TESTIMONY.
When I think of stew, I think of a hearty, comforting dish with harmonious ingredients that make it savory and perfect for warming your belly on a cold winter day.
When we think of testimony, we think of the many moments that help craft a powerful story. Giving a testimony actually has different components, like stew. The harmonious ingredients all come together, each with its own part to play, contributing a twist of its own flavor and purpose. On their own, the ingredients may not seem like much, but together they create something enriching. When giving our testimony, key ingredients include truthfulness and authenticity. When we share authentically with others about our experiences, it becomes a wonderful work of art.
When others hear your testimony—how God has blessed your life and brought you through trials and tribulations—they are uplifted and revitalized. When we testify about how good God is to us, people can truly see how He has stirred the pot in our lives. That testimony can be just the thing to thicken and strengthen their faith in Him. Even when we lose sight of God in the midst of hard times, we can see that He is still working.
When sharing our testimonies, we should not only highlight the victories God has brought to our lives, but also tell of the journey it took to get there. This is what makes a testimony rich in flavor.
If we are able to see through the steam that fogs up our glasses when we open up the lid of our lives to minister to others, we are good stewards in God’s eyes.
