A Golden Jubilee to Remember

Generation to generation, the anchor still holds.”

The Mount Sinai Seventh-day Adventist church family celebrated its Golden Jubilee 50th Anniversary Banquet on November 2, 2025, at Leonard’s Palazzo in Great Neck, New York, drawing a sold-out crowd for an afternoon of faith, fellowship, and joy. Guided by Dr. Richard Means, Jr., Senior Pastor, the celebration brought together generations of members, friends, and honored guests. Elegant music, smooth gospel-jazz instrumentals, and soulful live vocals created a warm, uplifting atmosphere. The purpose was to commemorate 50 years of ministry, reflect on the church’s legacy, and celebrate a future anchored firmly in God’s grace.

Guests were welcomed with a delightful reception featuring mocktails, horsd’oeuvres, and photo opportunities, alongside a nostalgic slideshow highlighting the church’s journey from its beginnings to today. Laughter, hugs, and spontaneous reunions set the tone for a memorable afternoon.

A highlight of the celebration was the presentation of a proclamation to Dr. Richard Means, Jr., from Senator Leroy Comrie, honoring the church’s 50 years of service and dedication to the community. This special recognition underscored the profound impact of the Mount Sinai Seventh-day Adventist Church over the past five decades.

One of the most meaningful moments was the ‘Elders-to-Youth Anchor Tribute’, where symbolic anchors were passed from one generation to the next. Dr. Richard Means, Jr. stood alongside the elders, affirming the church’s commitment to raising future leaders rooted in faith and purpose.

Throughout the celebration, guests enjoyed fellowship, shared memories, and received the beautifully crafted 50th Anniversary Commemorative Journal. Photographer coverage captured every joyful moment.

More than an event, the sold-out banquet was a heartfelt testament to God’s faithfulness, the strength of community, and the bright future ahead as the Mount Sinai Seventh-day Adventist church continues moving forward, anchored in grace.
